Josh Mahura honored the Humboldt Broncos during his time with the Cup

Josh Mahura, a Stanley Cup champion, made it a priority to ensure the Humboldt Broncos felt like champions too.

After spending an entire day meeting fans in his hometown of St. Albert, Alberta, Mahura brought the Cup to the local memorial dedicated to the Humboldt Broncos players who perished in the tragic 2018 bus accident. This memorial pays tribute to the four Broncos players who were also part of the St. Albert Raiders, a local youth hockey team.

Mahura, who secured the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers last season, posed with the trophy in front of the plaque commemorating the players.

Logan Hunter, Jaxon Joseph, Connor Lukan, and Steven Wack were members of both the Broncos and Raiders teams and are commemorated at the memorial.

In April 2018, a tragic accident in Saskatchewan claimed the lives of 16 Broncos players, coaches, and support staff, leaving another 13 injured.

After winning the Cup with the Panthers, Mahura signed with the Seattle Kraken as a free agent.
